72-Year-Old Winfield Welch of Greenfield, St. Michael Identified as Pedestrian Killed in St. George Road Accident

Police confirm the identity of 72-year-old Winfield Welch as the pedestrian killed in a road accident in Barbados. The collision involved two cars on Salters Road, St. George. Ongoing police investigations.
Police have confirmed the identity of the pedestrian killed in a road traffic accident on Wednesday, as 72-year-old Winfield Welch of Greenfield, St. Michael.
The fatal collision occurred around 7:05 p.m. along Salters Road, St. George, and involved two motor cars and Welch. According to reports, Welch allegedly crossed the roadway and was struck by the first motorcar. He was then hit and pinned under a second motorcar.
Personnel from the Barbados Fire Service extricated Welch from beneath the vehicle, but responders from the Barbados Ambulance Service determined there were no signs of life.
A medical doctor later arrived at the scene and officially pronounced him dead.
Police investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
