Twenty-eight witnesses are expected to give evidence for the prosecution in the trial of murder accused Jamar Ricardo Watson, which gets underway on Friday in Supreme Court No. 4.
Watson, 36, of School Gap, Hindsbury Road, St Michael, is charged with the March 27, 2018, killing of Kemar Gooding of Ellerton, St George.
The 23-year-old victim was wounded in an altercation at the River Terminal and later succumbed to his injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
On Thursday, a 12-member jury of ten women and two men was selected.
Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale S.C. and State Counsel Paul Prescod are prosecuting the matter, while Watson is represented by attorneys Safiya Moore and Raenell Johnson.
Madam Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell is presiding.
On Friday, opening statements are to be made, and several police witnesses are expected to give evidence.
