Wayne Winston Harris Faces Extended Jail Time for Repeat Offense Against Woman | Stalking and Trespassing Conviction Update

Having not learnt his lesson from four previous custodial sentences for stalking and harassing a woman, Wayne Winston Harris will spend more time behind bars after his latest offence.

“You are not learning your lesson at all,” chided Magistrate Manila Renee as the 59-year-old unemployed man of 2nd Avenue Greaves Land, Black Rock, St Michael, appeared before her and admitted that on May 11, on two occasions, he unlawfully entered upon the premises occupied by Nicole Gill, having been forbidden to do so by her.

Speaking on Monday in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, the prosecutor said the complainant had filed several reports against Harris since 2009 for stalking, harassment and trespassing, and that Harris had previously received four custodial sentences related to the matter. The latest was an 18-month stint at Dodds Prison which he recently completed.

On Saturday, around 5 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., Harris entered Gill’s premises and reports were made to the police who arrested and charged him.

During his interview, he admitted to being warned by Magistrate Douglas Frederick and the complainant never to return to the premises.

Noting that his last conviction had been in 2022, Magistrate Renee, whom Harris had also appeared before in 2010, stated, “I do not know what is going on with you and this situation, but you are not learning.”

Asked if he had anything to say in his defence, Harris replied, “I have nothing to say, Ma’am”.

“I am giving you two 18-month concurrent sentences and a warning to you: do not let there be a next time. Stay away from the premises of the virtual complainant!” she warned Harris.
