Patterson Orlando Ifill has been found guilty of having sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 14.
A nine-member jury delivered the unanimous verdict on Tuesday afternoon in the No. 4A Supreme Court, that the resident of Plum Tree Road, St Stephen’s Hill, St Michael, had sexual intercourse with the girl between November 1 and 30, 2008.
The complainant had testified that she had been at Ifill’s home assisting him with a construction project when she got tired and went into one of the bedrooms to lie down. He came into the bedroom and raped her, she said.
Madam Justice Wanda Blair ordered a pre-sentence report and adjourned the matter until May 28.
Senior State Counsel Joyann Catwell and State Counsel Maya Kellman prosecuted the matter, while defence attorney Sally Commissiong represented Ifill.
