About 400 people took part in the search for Sonia Parris.
An employee of Chefette Wildey, Parris, 58, of Edey Village, Christ Church, was last seen leaving work last Wednesday night. Subsequently, her partially burnt car was found in a track along Jordans, St George. One of her sons, André Parris, expressed appreciation for the large turnout while adding they remained hopeful they find his mother alive. The police helped coordinate the efforts though Inspector Wayne Stewart said the search was not a police-led affair as they had been on the job since Thursday. The group initially split into two, with one searching the area where the car was found and another searching around St David’s, Christ Church, around Blackman and Gollop Primary School.
