Attorneys for both the prosecution and defense have recommended a suspended sentence for Pedro O'Neal Reid, who committed a crime 17 years ago. He pleaded guilty to trespassing with intent to steal while armed with a cutlass. The defense attorney argues that Reid is remorseful and has cooperated with police. The prosecution agrees that a suspended sentence is appropriate due to the lengthy delay in the case. Reid's sentencing is scheduled for November 2.
