Pedro Sean Atherley, an illegal marijuana grower in Belmont Road, St Michael, has been given a year to pay a $13,000 fine for possession, cultivation, and intent to supply cannabis. If he fails to pay, he faces eight months in prison.
"Barbados' sea egg season is closed, and the public is urged to refrain from ordering or harvesting sea eggs in their juvenile stage to allow for repopulation. Chief Fisheries Officer cautions against further depletion."
Police are investigating a road fatality on Sugar Cane Avenue, St. James. A motor lorry owned by the Sanitation Authority and a pedestrian were involved, resulting in the pedestrian's death. The victim has been identified as Grantley Henderson Skeete, 75.
The government of Barbados is prioritizing the repair of bridges and roads in rural areas. Several projects in St Andrew and St Joseph will be restarted in the coming days.
