“If we’re going to have the results that we want from our athletes going forward then it requires a proactive approach.”
That’s the views of the Minister of Sport Charles Griffith, who addressed the ground breaking ceremony of the new Racquet Centre on Wednesday, at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
The facility will feature six courts for each sport (badminton and squash). It will have the capacity to host local and regional tournaments with changing rooms, bathrooms, office spaces, a small conference area, and a retail space.
Griffith commended the National Sports Council for its involvement, as well as the heads of the sports bodies for taking a proactive approach in efforts to see the facility come to fruition.
