Phil Salt's aggressive century and a strong performance from England's team led to a resounding 75-run win against West Indies, resulting in England's highest-ever T20 total of 267-3.
Tarouba – Aggressive opener Phil Salt smashed another magnificent century in England’s highest-ever T20 international cricket total as they squared the series 2-2 with a romping 75-run win against West Indies in a spellbinding day-night match yesterday at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago.
The 27-year-old Salt thumped 119 off 57 balls as England tore into the West Indies attack to make 267-3 – surpassing their previous highest T20 total of 241 against New Zealand in 2019.
Ten sixes flew off Salt’s bat as well as seven fours as he hit the highest total by an England men’s batsman in T20, surpassed the 116 not out made by Alex Hales against Sri Lanka in 2014.
Captain Jos Buttler (55 off 29 balls with six fours and three sixes) and Liam Livingstone (54 off 21 balls with four sixes and four fours) joined the party with quickfire half centuries. (CMC)
