The man charged in connection with an acid attack on a 92-year-old man was remanded to prison as the elderly gentleman remains in critical condition in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Kerry Ranaldo Weekes will be subjected to a psychiatric evaluation in the next 28 days before his return to the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.
Weekes, 39, of Venture, St John, had pleaded not guilty to stealing $800 belonging to Courtney Drayton on July 28.
He was, however, not required to plead to doing serious bodily harm to Drayton, on August 11, with intent to do him serious bodily harm or to maim, disfigure or disable him.
Prosecutor Station Sergeant Crishna Williams objected to Weekes’ release, in relation to the serious bodily harm charge, as she pointed to the nature and seriousness of the offence. (HLE)
