Barbados is currently under a flash-flood warning for northern and central districts. The Met Office has advised residents to expect heavy showers, runoff, soil erosion, flooding, and potential traffic delays.

According to the Met Office, moderate to heavy showers are currently in progress in those areas and are expected to continue throughout the afternoon with occasional breaks.
It said residents can expect one to two inches of rain with isolated higher amounts in the warning area.

A flash-flood warning is issued when rapid flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time – generally less than six hours – is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.
