Woman Accused of Stealing $40,000 Granted Bail in Bridgetown Court
A woman accused of stealing over $40,000, Melissa Kepatra Daniel, was granted bail by the Bridgetown court. She was not asked to plead and must surrender her passport and report to a police station. Her next court appearances are scheduled for September 12 and December 1. Attorney Kyle Walkes represented her.

A woman accused of stealing more than $40 000 was granted bail after she appeared before a Bridgetown court yesterday morning.
Melissa Kepatra Daniel, a clerical assistant of Lot 17 Bella Vista, Mount Wilton, St Thomas, was not asked to plead to either of the offences she is accused of, when she went before the District “A” Traffic Court, which was presided over by Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes.
Daniel, 35, is accused of stealing $23 370 belonging to Glassesco Investments Limited between October 26, 2022 and January 30 this year. Her second charge is that she stole $21 150 belonging to Dwight Cummins between March 16 and August 8, 2023.
The prosecution had no objection to bail, but suggested Daniel surrender her passport and report to a police station.
Chief Magistrate Weekes set the bail at $10 000 on each charge and the accused was given until 1 p.m. yesterday to hand over her passport. She was also ordered to report to the District “D” Police Station every Tuesday and Saturday by 1 p.m.
On the charge which falls under the District “E” Magistrate’s Court at Holetown, Daniel will appear there on September 12 and reappear in the Traffic Court on December 1.
