The Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has dismissed as a “hoax”, reports circulating
on social media that a paper in this year’s exams has been leaked.
In a brief statement, the regional exam body said: “CXC frowns upon attempts by persons to spread false information and create panic for candidates preparing for examinations. News and updates from CXC can be found on our website cxc.org and official social media pages.”
“There are serious penalties for obtaining examination question papers or related material beforehand, including cancellation of results, disqualification and debarment. Please review our guidelines to ensure you are familiar with our regulations,” it further warned.
CXC reminded students that its guidelines for writing examinations provide details of what candidates should and should not do during examinations.
